On October 31, 1517, Martin Luther nailed his list of 95 Theses to the door of the church in Wittenberg, Germany. This action started the series of events that we now call the Protestant Reformation. Many Christians in the world today worship in churches that came about because of Luther's actions.
As others are running about clueless as to the significance of this day, or maybe placing their own significance on it, Christians can rest assured that our God is the ruler of all days. He is mighty and sure to win all battles against evil.
A Mighty Fortress Is Our God was written by Luther.
Today, take notice of the 3rd verse:
And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us:
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.
So, tonight, let your light shine as you pray for your neighbors to know Christ as He truly is: Mighty, Never-failing. His kingdom is forever.

I am enthralled by original significance of this hymn at the time it was written. It was a hymn that was even sung at times of great difficulty during the early days of the Reformation. At any rate, this song is ingrained in my soul, as I think of Luther's love and reverence to our Lord and Redeemer.Blessed be his name for ever and ever. Amen
